Size 1 is optimised for women but also fits small men with a 45 cm back length and a typical height range of 160-170cm.

The 3rd-generation version of the AK57is identical to its predecessor in features and function. The two major differences are a new fabric, which now contains 40% Kevlar (up from 28% previously), and an all-welded construction, making it highly water-resistant.
The only feature alteration is theice-axe carrying system, which has been updated to stay abreast of modern tool development (so many ice-axes today have neither adzes nor hammers).
The AK57 is the big brother to the AK47and features the removable floating lid of the AK47-X. Its name may not be as catchy, but that doesn’t mean it’s short of attitude – it’s just more understated. The larger capacity of the AK57 makes it a suitable pack for lightweight expeditions on high(er) altitude climbs, or for more traditional, less technical alpine routes.
